چکیده
For the thin obstacle problem in $${\mathbb {R}}^3$$ , we show that half-space solutions form an isolated family space of $$\frac{7}{2}$$ -homogeneous solutions. a general solution with one blow-up profile this family, establish rate convergence to profile. As consequence, obtain regularity free boundary near such contact points.

Reconstructing a thin absorbing obstacle in a half-space of tissue.
We solve direct and inverse obstacle-scattering problems in a half-space composed of a uniform absorbing and scattering medium. Scattering is sharply forward-peaked, so we use the modified Fokker-Planck approximation to the radiative transport equation. The obstacle is an absorbing inhomogeneity that is thin with respect to depth. Using the first Born approximation, we derive a method to recove...
متن کاملOn the Penalized Obstacle Problem in the Unit Half Ball
We study the penalized obstacle problem in the unit half ball, i.e. an approximation of the obstacle problem in the unit half ball. The main result states that when the approximation parameter is small enough and when certain level sets are sufficiently close to the hyperplane {x1 = 0}, then these level sets are uniformly C1 regular graphs. As a by-product, we also recover some regularity of th...
متن کاملAsymptotic Description of Solutions of the Planar Exterior Navier–Stokes Problem in a Half Space
We consider the problem of a body moving within an incompressible fluid at constant speed parallel to a wall in an otherwise unbounded domain. This situation is modeled by the incompressible Navier–Stokes equations in a planar exterior domain in a half space with appropriate boundary conditions on the wall, the body, and at infinity. We focus on the case where the size of the body is small. We ...

متن کاملRegularity of solutions to the parabolic fractional obstacle problem
In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in studying constrained variational problems with a fractional diffusion. One of the motivations comes from mathematical finance: jumpdiffusion processes where incorporated by Merton [14] into the theory of option evaluation to introduce discontinuous paths in the dynamics of the stock’s prices, in contrast with the classical lognormal diff...
